Captain Cook Cruises - 4 Night Cruise
4 Night Northbound Cruise
This northbound cruise will take you on an adventure touring the coral cays and rainforest destinations along the northern section of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef. Cruises depart from and return to tropical Cairns.
Monday
Discover Fitzroy Island, an integration of towering rainforest and giant ferns. The first destination on your cruise, you can stroll through the afternoon sun and enjoy all that the island has to offer.
Tuesday
See the place where Captain Cook initially landed in Australia, remote Cooktown. Many came looking for gold and a town of 30,000 people was built. Modern times have found Cooktown to be a quiet place, with a rich and interesting history to explore.
Wednesday
Following Captain James Cook's journey to the north, the next destination you will discover is breath taking Lizard Island. Brilliant fringing reefs surround the island, presenting the perfect opportunity for snorkelling the giant clam gardens off Mrs Watson's Bay, and step into a glass bottomed boat and dawdle over acres of coral or hike the trail up to Cooks Look like previous explorers.
Thursday
Today you will explore the marvels of Ribbon Reef Number Five. The bright clear water covers staghorn, fan, sea whip, brain and boulder corals, while fantastic marine life such as rays, reef sharks and coral trout swim about below you. Board the glass bottom boat for some fantastic marine life viewing. Destination Cairns will be reached on Friday morning.
